EFCC Charges Auditors, Other Professionals on Best Practices in Fight Against Corruption

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulkarim Chukkol has called on auditors and other professionals involved in the fight against economic and financial crimes, to be more professional, diligent and uncompromising in the task of riding the nation of corrupt practices.
He made the call in Abuja on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at a One- Day Anti-Corruption Situation Room, ACSR, Workshop, organized by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda HEDA, in collaboration with Society for West African Internal Auditors Practitioners, SWAIAP. According to him, auditors are important assurance providers and their commitment to checking fraudulent practices should be total.

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, September 18, 2023, admitted in evidence more documents tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against Ismail Mustapha, also known as Mompha, through its third prosecution witness, Ayotunde Solademi, a staff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, Office of Legal Attache US Consulate, Lagos.
The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on January 12, 2022 arraigned Mompha alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on an eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy to launder funds obtained through unlawful activity, retention of proceeds of criminal conduct, laundering of funds obtained through unlawful activity, failure to disclose assets and property, possession of documents containing false pretence and use of property derived from unlawful act.
LEDAP Kicks Off E-Content Development Training for EFCC Staff

The Legal Defence Assistance Project, LEDAP, on Monday, September 18, 2023, commenced training of staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s Academy on E- content Development.
The training, code-named: "Train the Trainers on the E- Content Development", is a week-long programme sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation.
In his opening remarks, Acting Commandant, EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE1 Babashani Umar, said the training would strengthen the criminal justice system, with emphasis on the Administration Of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, through the E-learning platform.
Cross-Border Crimes: Chukkol Restates EFCC’s Support for WAPIS Programme

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulkarim Chukkol has reiterated the commitment of the Commission to the effective operation of the West African Police Information System, WAPIS, programme, describing it as timely and extremely important.
He made the disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 while receiving a delegation of the International Criminal Police Organization INTERPOL/ WAPIS at the Corporate Headquarters of the EFCC, in Jabi, Abuja.

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September 15, 2023, arrested 29 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Enugu state.
The suspects are: Ali Chukwuebuka, Arinze Ede, Charles Aforka, Ugwueke Chidera, Ugwu Felix Chenedu, Chizu Ifejika, Chris Emmanuel, Chukwuka Onye, Chukwuneke Nicholas, Daniel Okwume, Ebubechukwu Egbo Victor, and Ejeh Monday Nelson
Others include; Francis Peter Ifechukwu, Chibuzor Ikweze Anthony, Joshua Onah, Martin Excel Ozichukwu, Ejeh Moses, Ogbonna Okpata, Ohia Excel, Nicholas Okereke, Kingsley Onyedikachi, Osinachi Johnson, Enejeh Paul, John Samuel, Omeh Kamsichukwu Joseph, Chigozie Egwuatu Chiderem, Okechukwu Ezeka, Johnson Onuorah, and Emmanuel Johnson.
