The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, launched an application (App), Eagle Eye, designed to ease the process of reporting economic and financial crimes in Nigeria. The initiative, a clear demonstration of the Commission's technology-driven processes, represents a new experience in information sharing and crime reporting between the public and the EFCC.
Apart from complementing the existing channels for reporting economic crimes, the unique advantage of the application is that it eliminates direct person-to-person interface in the reporting process and guarantees anonymity which is an added incentive to effective whistle blowing. With the application, complainants can report cases from any part of the world in line with the Proceeds of Crime Act 2022 with full assurance of secrecy and anonymity.
Eagle Eye is a user friendly application with features that can be navigated by any literate person. The first step is to download the App to your device from either the Apple OR Google Play store. Anonymous petitioner can also follow up on a petition. To do that, save the Report ID, then click on Case Update and input the Report ID, which will automatically redirect you to a chat screen to either send additional messages or read messages sent by the EFCC regarding your report.
