Former Director Tasks EFCC Officers on Professionalism, Diligence

Officers of the Kaduna Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have been enjoined to make professionalism and due diligence their watchword while carrying out investigation activities and other duties in the fight against corruption.

A former Director of the Commission, Mr. Bala Sanga gave the admonition, recently, while speaking at a one-day training programme organized for officers of the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC.

The training, which was at the instance of the Command’s Acting Zonal Commander, Aisha Abubakar, was organised to build the capacity of staff in the Command.

Mr. Sanga, in his lecture entitled, "Of Fathers, Sons and Slaves", focused mainly on investigation and prosecution of money laundering cases using, the P&ID case which prosecution he is a part of, as case study.

He dissected the case from the beginning to the end whilst citing relevant laws showing off the efforts of the EFCC Team as well as NFIU and SCUML in managing the case. He enjoined members of staff; especially investigating officers including lawyers to always ensure that due diligence were carried out on cases before filing processes in court.

Mr. Sanga also enjoined members of staff to be passionate about their job and adhere strictly to the core values of Commission, which are Integrity, Courage, Professionalism and Collaboration.

“Nigerians are looking up to the EFCC for success in the fight against corruption and you cannot afford to let them down”, he added.
