The Kano Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Farouq Dogondaj, has called on corps members across the country, to take advantage of the whistle blowing policy of the government and expose corrupt practices in their places of primary assignment.

He gave the charge in Dutse, Jigawa State on Thursday, September 22, 2022 while addressing members of the EFCC/ Community Development Service, CDS, group of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC. According to him, the task of moving the nation forward, could only be successful, when corps members join forces with other interest groups to expose cases of economic and financial crimes in their environments.

“The EFCC is calling on you to take advantage of the whistle blower policy of the government, by reporting any questionable practice wherever you find yourself. Being a mere spectator and lamenting that things are not done rightly, will not help the country. You must wake up and take ownership of the fight against corruption in order to salvage the nation from the yoke of stagnation.

Dogondaji, who spoke through the Head of Public Affairs of the Command, Idris Isiyaku, urged corps members to see themselves as critical stakeholders in the fight against economic crimes and shun all internet-related offences. “The fight against corruption cannot be left in the hands of law enforcement agencies alone, all stakeholders must key into the crusade and fight it to the barest minimum. The EFCC has realized that, youths who are regarded as leaders of tomorrow, are the ones engaged in cyber fraud. This should no longer continue”, he said.
