Bawa Charges Staff on Professionalism

Officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have been enjoined to uphold exceptional ethical values and professionalism in the discharge of their official duties towards ensuring the success of the fight against economic and financial crimes.

The Executive Chairman, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa gave the admonition on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 while declaring open a two-day training programme for personnel of the North West and North East Commands of the Commission.

Held at Quarter House Hotel, Kaduna, the two-day training was organized by the Directorate of Administration and Human Resources to enhance the capacity of staff in the Commands.

In the remark entitled, “The Ethical Values Leadership In The New Normal And Transparency In The Workplace for EFCC Staff," Bawa who was represented by the Commander of the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Commission, Harry Erin said, “Nigerians expect much from the EFCC in defeating corruption, and we cannot afford to let them down”.

According to him, "The core values of the Commission which are, Integrity, Professionalism, Courage and Collaboration are elements needed to ensure the success of the fight against economic and financial crimes.

He assured that the Commission will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that staff harness world class professional training on leadership.

The EFCC boss said training and re-training is one of the cardinal focus of his management, to keep staff abreast of developments in technology and how to deploy such tools in fighting emerging typologies of economic and financial crimes.

The training facilitator, Dr. Aminu Gusau harped on the need for staff to appreciate their critical role in helping to rescue Nigeria from the grip of corruption.

He urged participants to align themselves with the vision of the founding fathers of the Commission and ensure that success is achieved in the fight against corruption.

He also pleaded with the participants to share the knowledge acquired during the programme with colleagues.
