The Lagos Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ahmed Ghali, has expressed the Commission’s readiness to inaugurate the EFCC integrity club in the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technologies, Lagos to aid the promotion of integrity among the students.
He said the integrity club would afford the students an opportunity to become ambassadors of the Commission and also be seen as voices in the anti-graft campaign.
He stated this on Friday, November 5, 2021 in a lecture titled “Cybercrime: Counting the Costs On The Students’ Academic and Career Potentials” delivered at the Victoria Island, Lagos campus of the college.
Ghali, who was represented by Ayo Oyewole, Head, Public Affairs, Lagos Zonal Command, urged Nigerian Youths to shun crimes and all its temptations, adding that “though crime may yield a temporary respite, it promises regrets and gnashing of teeth in the end.
“We are calling on you to not be mere spectators in the campaign against economic and financial crimes, but to become change agents and tell everyone that hard work is still the sure route to sustainable successful life.”
He thanked the management of the College for identifying the relevance of continuous orientation and sensitization of the youth against computer-related frauds.
“It is, indeed, a right step in the right direction. We are always willing to partner and leverage on every available forum and platform like this to drum up support for the fight against cybercrimes, being the most prevalent economic and financial crimes among the youth,” he said.
