EFCC Charges Students To Be Change Agents In Fight Against Corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on students across the country to be change agents in the fight against corruption.

This call was made on Friday, July 9, 2021 by the Head, Public Affairs, Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, while addressing members of Integrity Club and students of Police Secondary School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Oyewale charged the students to be disciplined; transparent; accountable, courageous and ready to expose any shady dealings around them. "As change agents, you must be accountable, transparent in your conduct by speaking against anything that is not right. From nothing, nothing comes, without moral and financial discipline, all other virtues cannot stand", he said.

He also admonished students to be active whistle- blowers, stressing that silence and cover- up would not help the anti- corruption war. “You must always speak up. Whistle- blowing is all about conscious efforts at exposing suspicious conduct and compromises reeking of corruption. If you see something, you must always say something.

“We will continue to remind you of your responsibilities as members of the Integrity Club. Exposing corrupt practices should be your continual engagements", he said.
