Uphold Commission's Core Values, Bawa Charges EFCC Personnel in Benin

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has charged officers of the Benin Zonal Office to uphold the core values of the Commission (which are professionalism, courage and integrity) in the discharge of their duties. The EFCC boss stated this on Thursday, July 1, 2021 while addressing staff of the Zonal Office in Benin city, Edo State.

The EFCC boss who was on a working visit to the Zone, charged the staff to be disciplined as it was key to attaining the Commission's mandate. "We should be disciplined and have mutual respect for one another. Respect your fellow colleagues."

He urged the staff to give their best in whatever capacity they function in order to achieve the overall mandate of the Commission. "I need your commitment and determination to make a difference in the Commission and the country at large," he posited.

The EFCC boss gave credit to the pioneer leaders of the Commission for their vision, commitment and determination to make a difference within the armbit of the law. He charged the staff to be proactive and strategic in their approach to the fight against corruption and economic and financial crimes.

According him, the Commission cannot rest on its laurels as Nigerians are looking up to the Commission to rid the nation of corruption, economic and financial crimes which has stunted the country's development. "Nigerians have high hope in us. We can't afford to disappoint them."

He charged the staff to shun corruption as the Commission will not tolerate such acts.

Bawa further disclosed that the Commission will invest in human capacity development for it to achieve its mandate. "We have to develop human capacity. That's why we overhauled the EFCC Academy. " He added that the Commission was working on several policies that will enhance the growth of the Commission.
