EFCC Trains Staff on Office Administrative Procedures

A five-day workshop on “Basic and Intermediate Office Administrative Procedure,” has kicked off for the staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC at the Commission’s Academy, Karu, Abuja.

Declaring the event open on Monday November 9, 2020, the Academy’s Acting Commandant, Itam Nnaghe Obono noted that the workshop became necessary following inconsistent filing system, defacing of official memos by minuting and prolonged delays in retrieving archived documents.

While stating that improper administrative paperwork will no longer be tolerated in the Commission, he said the knowledge imparted in the participants would trickle down.

“This training is a ‘hands on training’ and we expect you to reflect all that you learn here in your administrative duties when you return to your various Zones. You are to share your experiences so that we can form a common practice of filing administration across the board in the Commission,” he stated.

Buttressing Obono’s position, Femi Gbarufu, Head, Human Resources said the workshop was tailored towards enhancing staff capacity for optimum delivery on the Commission’s mandate of rooting out corruption, economic and financial crimes in the country, and charged the participants, drawn from the Commission’s Zonal Offices and the headquarters to transmit the knowledge imparted in them to all other staff members.

According to Gbarufu, “There is plan for developing management staff capacity too,” noting that some senior staff of the Commission have already completed various trainings at the Nigeria Defence College, NIPPS and Nigeria War College and “that the knowledge they gathered would be transferred to other members of the staff.”
