The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Thursday March 19, 2020, inaugurated a new Integrity Club for students of Excellent Kiddies Montessori Academy, Bwari Abuja, with an admonition that they should aspire to be next generation leaders of integrity.

The acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, represented by the Head, Enlightenment and Re-orientation (E&R), Oladele Oyewole, urged the students to be upright in all their life adding that with right attitude in whatever they are doing, they will achieve greatness.

“Uprightness, right attitudes and honesty are the keys to success. Make sure you always do the right thing at all time”, Magu stated.

“Our  moto is do the right thing, so for example, if there is establishment rule in this school to tuck in your shirts and you deliberately abstain from doing that, you automatically did a corruption act, contract scam is also a corrupt act, examination scam or malpractice is also a corrupt act”.

According to the anti-graft boss, "honesty is the best policy in fighting corruption. Talent without character is moral bankruptcy, talent can give you exposure, but character will sustain you. Shun corrupt practices like examination malpractice, embezzlement and all forms of corruption", he said.

Magu further explained the aim of launching integrity club in the school, saying that, “the aim of launching the integrity club in this school is to create pathfinder for the other students that are not opportune to have this club in their schools. We want you students to have good moral conduct, character and before you get all these you must be good role models for other people to copy from you and you must be transparent, you must actively involve in the environmental activities, so as to quickly report any corrupt act and show zero tolerance to corruption”.

Speaking further, Magu urged the students to face their studies diligently, and be honest and join the EFCC to fight corruption and other economic crimes.

Mrs Christy Imudia, the school’s principal, appreciated the Commission for coming to inaugurate EFCC Integrity club. She said the club will continue to teach and speak against corruption and that they are ready to collaborate with the EFCC to fight corruption.

The Director, Excellent Kiddies Montessori Academy, Mr. Sunday Imudia, appreciated the EFCC and expressed gratitude and happiness for the visit.
