EFCC Vows to Defend Mandate

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has re-affirmed its commitment towards pursuing its mandate of educating, enlightening and sensitising the public against corruption and economic crimes.


This was disclosed during a radio live programme on Vision FM Kaduna, entitled; "Madubi",  on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, by the EFCC Kaduna Zonal Head, Mailafia Yakubu.

Yakubu said the Commission will continue to pursue positively towards the preventive mandates of the Commission geared towards educating, enlightening and sensitising the public about the activities of the EFCC in the fight against corruption and cybercrimes.

According to Mailafia, the powers contained in the preventive mandate of the Commission cannot be taken for granted because of the visible impacts it has made overtime for the Commission and Nigeria as a whole.

He re-emphasised that the radio programme has paved way for the Commission to reach out to the public extensively and proffer practical explanations to questions being raised by the public.

Mailafia used the programme to answer questions from the public concerning yearning topical issues relating to programmes for kids,  youths,  women and others, including social media related financial crimes, unsolicited text messages and how the Commission were able to handle recoveries of cash and properties, yahoo yahoo menace for which he explained that the Commission has recorded successes.
