The Acting Zonal Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Uyo Zonal Office, Alex Ebbah, on behalf of the Acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, on May 23, 2019, paid an inspection visit to the Nigerian Mobile Police Command - Mopol 26 in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he commended the Command for making provision for the Commissions exhibit trucks to be parked within their premises for safe keeping.
“It is high time the Commission took stock and gets itself familiarised with the Commission's exhibits to ascertain the state and conditions of trucks and the products in them as most of the cases are already in courts and at different stages of trial, both in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states," he said.
Welcoming the EFCC team at Mopol 26 Base, the Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mamman J. Siraj expressed satisfaction at the cordial working relationship and understanding between the Police and the EFCC.
“Be rest assured of the continuous support of the Command in the fight against corruption and all forms of illegal bunkering of petroleum products,” Siraj said.
The high point of the visit was the inspection of the trucks at the exhibit park, where Ebbah reiterated Magu’s need for the Command’s cooperation, sustained synergy and trust by not relenting in providing security for the Commission's exhibits in its care.
