Poly Students Honour Magu For Outstanding Performance in Corruption Fight

Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has called on Nigerians youths to join hands in the fight against corruption in order to have a guaranteed future for a sustainable development in the country.

He made the call on Monday, October 16, 2017 while receiving an honorary award of excellence from the National Association of Polytechnic Students, NAPS, at the EFCC’s Head Office, Abuja.

The award was presented by NAPS 2017 delegates in recognition of Magu’s outstanding contribution in eradicating corruption and empowering the Nigerian youths.

“The invitation to curb corruption in Nigeria is open to everyone. It is my desire for the Nigerian youth and indeed everyone to partner with EFCC in this fight against corruption. The celebration of corruption must stop as corruption is evil. We must join forces to combat this societal ill”, Magu charged.

The anti-graft czar further stressed the need to put in place anti-corruption initiatives from the grassroot level as well as the need to entrust the education sector the task of teaching and creating awareness as a proactive measure in the on-going graft war.

Extolling the virtues of Magu, the leader of the delegation, Comrade Jamilu Hassan from Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger State said, “We are here to celebrate an icon of true leadership; a man whom the cap fits so well and who has given service back to the people.”

He further said that, “Nigerian students are here to celebrate and say a big thank you to Magu” who they described as a seasoned administrator and an “anti-crime tycoon”.

Also speaking, Comrade Stephen Bidemi said Magu’s dedication, commitment and doggedness in the fight against corruption had been a source of inspiration to the Nigerian youths.

He described Magu as “a goal getter, pillar of support, beacon of hope and a rare investigator that is professionally equipped to steer the Nation’s anti-graft war ship at this critical period of our nation building”.
