The management of Jaiz Bank Plc. has sought for more support from Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the area of fighting economic and financial crimes, as the war against corruption requires a collective effort.

Hassan Usman, the managing director (MD) of the bank made the request when he led a team of top management staff to the Abuja headquarters of the anti-graft agency on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
 
He was received by Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, EFCC and other executive staff of the agency.
 
While commending the EFCC for reinvigorating the corruption fight, Usman said, “We appreciate your dogged commitment to ensuring that you root out every form of corruption in the banking sector, and we are here to seek for more support from you.”
 
The bank chief further noted that the bank and the agency were already collaborating and partnering, but “we are asking for more support in fighting corruption in Nigeria”, he said.
 
He listed amongst the bank services to include specialized banking, mortgage and priority services to customers and added that the customer base has increased appreciatively since he took office in June, 2016.
 
The MD appreciated the management of the EFCC for the welfare services rendered to its staff by housing the ATM gallery of the bank in the Commission’s premises.  He hoped that the visit would open another chapter in strengthening the existing relationship between the two bodies.
 
In his remarks, Magu thanked the visitors and assured them of the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with any organisation or individual on any initiative aimed at killing corruption in Nigeria.

“I want to assure you, we are ready to support the bank in any way you want us to, we are fully ready to support you at all times, if there is anything we can do  please let us know”, he assured.

On the visit were: Rukayat salauden, Company secretary and Legal Adviser; Ahmed A. Hassan, Chief Complainace Officer; Sadi Abdul, Chief Internal Auditor and B. Abubakar, Compliance Officer.
