EFCC FC Beats Mighty Jets 2-0 to Qualify for NPL Play-off

EFCC FC , the football club of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Saturday, June 10, 2023 defeated Mighty Jets of Jos 2- nil to top Group A1 of the Northern Conference of the Nigeria National League, NNL, to qualify for the Nigeria Premier league, NPL, play-off.
The match which took place at the Area 3 football stadium, Garki, Abuja was dominated by the EFCC boys. A penalty in the first half converted by Joshua Egaji, and a second half strike by Daniel Penuel ensured victory for EFCC FC, and a passage to the NNL Super 8 play-off coming up later this month.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, arraigned one Taiwo Oladipo Amos and his company, Olatamos Technologies Ltd, before Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State on one court charge bordering on stealing.
Amos is alleged to have through his company defrauded Teamicabenation Ltd of the sum of N7,264.000 which was meant for the purchase of bitcoin.

As part of efforts to check the increasing incidence of fraudulent withdrawals and use of pre-registered SIM cards to open wallet accounts, the Kano Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today June 13, 2023, met with representatives of telecommunications and financial technology companies, fintechs, in the Zone
In his opening remarks, the Zonal Commander, Farouq Dogondaji said the impetus for the engagement was the Commission’s concern about a pattern of fraudulent activities which clearly shows that fraudsters were gravitating towards Fintechs because of some observed vulnerabilities.
Court Sends Nine Internet Fraudsters to Jail in Benin City

Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City on Tuesday June 13, 2023, convicted and sentenced nine internet fraudsters to jail.
The convicts are Onwudiegwu Kingsley, Ezerhume Jude Osomieneshi, Alasah Ismail, Enagbere Joseph Ewaen, and Eferetin Miracle. Others are Gift Unuajefe, Epama Omonkhodion Francis, Esegbue Stephen, and Oghenekohwo Maro Great.
Alleged N950m Fraud: Court Adjourns Trial of Young Alhaji Foundation Promoter Till June 19

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on June 13, 2023, adjourned till June 19, 2023 further hearing in the trial of one Alhaji Usman Abubakar over an alleged N950m fraud.
Abubakar, alongside Young Alhaji Foundation, is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a five-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing to the tune of N950 million.
