Two Internet Fraudsters Jailed In Makurdi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Command, has secured the conviction and sentencing of two internet fraudsters to various jail terms before Justices Abdul Dogo and N. I. Afolabi of the Federal High Court, Makurdi, Benue State and Federal High Court, Lafia, Nasarawa State respectively.
The convicts were prosecuted by the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Commission on separate one count cyber-fraud related charges.

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on June 19, 2023, adjourned till June 23, 2023 further hearing in the trial of one Alhaji Usman Abubakar over an alleged N950m fraud.
Abubakar, alongside Young Alhaji Foundation, is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a five-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing to the tune of N950 million.
EFCC Has Not Declared Matawalle Wanted

The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to a report, entitled, Alleged N70b Fraud: EFCC Declares Ex-Zamfara Gov, Matawalle Wanted, which appeared in the Sunday Tribune of June 18, 2023 and purports that the Commission had declared a former Zamafara State governor, Bello Matawalle wanted and requested the Department of State Service, DSS, to arrest him, “anywhere he is seen”.

Justice E. A. Obile of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, convicted and sentenced one Harrison Patrick Egileoniso (aka. Nandi Dlamini) to three years in the Correctional Service after pleading "guilty" to three counts bordering on obtaining by false pretences preferred against him by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Property Agent Jailed for Selling Land with Forged Documents in Kaduna

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured a conviction of one Abubakar Munkailu, a property agent, before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court, Kaduna on a one count charge bordering on forgery.
The charge reads, “That you, Munkaila Abubakar sometime in January, 2018 at Kaduna within the judicial division of the High Court of Justice of Kaduna with intent to defraud forged a document title " TAKARDAN YARJENIYA SAYAR DA PLOT KO GIDA DAKE DANBUSHIYA KADUNA " in respect of a plot situate at Millennium City, DANBUSHIYA Kaduna, purportedly issued by Abubakar Mamadi and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 344 and punishable under Section 345 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.”
