Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, on Thursday, July 6, 2023 jailed five fraudsters for fraudulent impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
The convicts, Omini Godswill, Ojong Anthony Ojong, Nsikak Essien, Oforji Chijindu and Uche Chinedu, were jailed following their pleas of " guilty" to various charges bordering on fraudulent impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.

The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, secured the conviction of six fraudsters before Justice Abdul Dogo of a Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi, Benue State.
The convicts are: Odumu Emmanuel, Audu Abdulgafar Idowu, Ikwe Daniel Adawu, Benedict Udochukwu Ezeokole, Clement David Onoja and Lawrence Ndubisi.

The Acting Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulkarim Chukkol has deployed the activities of illegal mining operators in Kwara state and vowed to check the menace.
He stated this on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at a workshop organised by the EFCC for print, electronic, online reporters in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday July 5, 2023 arraigned Precious Ojo and Joseph Uduaghan before Justice F. A. Olubanjo of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State.
Ojo and Uduaghan were arraigned on 10 and three count charges respectively for offences bordering on fraudulent impersonation, obtaining by false pretence and money laundering.
Cybercrime: EFCC Sensitizes Students Ahead of Integrity Club Launch in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has appealed to secondary school students in Oyo State not to be involved in cybercrime and to speak up whenever they see crimes being perpetrated in their schools and communities. ACE I Halima Mustafa Rufa'u, Ag. Commander of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Commission, made the appeal on Wednesday, July 5, during a pre-Integrity Club inauguration sensitization outreach to selected schools in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
At Oluyole High School, Ibadan, Rufa’u who spoke through the Head of Public Affairs Department of the Zonal Command, DSE Egbodofo Olumide lamented the high incidence of cybercrime among the youth. She said the Commission’s determination to arrest this trend informed the decision to establish Integrity Club in primary and secondary schools and Zero Tolerance Club in tertiary institutions as vehicles for value orientation and citizens mobilisation for corrective action against economic and financial crimes.
