EFCC Arrests 13 Chinese Nationals for Alleged Illegal Mining Activities in Kwara

Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 13 Chinese nationals for offences bordering on illegal mining in Ilorin, Kwara State. The offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 1(8) (b) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap M17, 1983.
The suspects, which comprise of a female and 12 male, were arrested on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at the Government Reserved Area, G.R.A Ilorin following credible intelligence about their activities which included but not limited to, illegal mining and non-payment of royalties to the Federal Government as required by law.
EFCC Arraigns Suspected Property Fraud Syndicate in Uyo

The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned a syndicate of four suspected land scammers, for alleged N2, 000,000.00 (Two Million Naira) fraud in Uyo.
They were arraigned on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 before Justice Maureen Adaobi Onyetenu of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has commended the effort of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the fight against corruption.
The Commandant, Basil Igwebueze stated this on July 5, 2023 when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Port Harcourt Zonal Commander of the, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Ahmed Ghali in his office.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Wednesday, restated its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
The Commander of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Commission, ACE I Aliyu Nuhu Naibi made the pledge when he received in his office, a delegation from the NDLEA, led by the Zonal Commander, ACGN Abdul Momodu.

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulkarim Chukkol has called for more involvement of youths in the fight against economic and financial crimes as a potent means of addressing rising moral decay in the society.
He made the call on Tuesday, July 12, 2023 at the commemoration of the African Union Anti-Corruption Day 2023 in Abuja. According to him, raising more awareness among youths against corruption in Nigeria will commit them to shunning criminalities and moral compromises.
