Court Sends Three Internet Fraudsters to Jail in Benin City

Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 convicted and sentenced the trio of Destiny Okokhue, Godwin Michael Ejovwoke and Kazeem Abidemi Samson to three years imprisonment for fraud.
They were prosecuted on one count charge of intent to defraud and unlawful possession of fraudulent documents by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Man Jailed for Giving False information to EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction of one Misbah Ahmed before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court on a one count charge bordering on false information.
The defendant misled operatives of the Commission into believing that a huge sum of money in foreign currency was stashed in a residence located at Federal Housing Low-cost, Tudun Wada, Zamfara State.

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 arrested 52 suspected internet fraudsters at their hideout in Abraka, a university town in Delta State.

The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction of the trio of Miracle Obiduikwu ( aka Jevonta Latimer), Baneywu Kuzayet Ambrose ( aka Alexa Daisy ) and Francis Uba Chidiebere ( aka Cherry capricott ) before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court, Kaduna on separate one count charge bordering on internet fraud.
The defendants who were arrested in different parts of Kaduna following intelligence linking them to various internet fraud-related activities, were found to have defrauded some foreign nationals through social media.

The Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ahmad Nuhu Bamali, has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for demonstrating resilience in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the country despite the challenges.
He gave the commendation on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 when he received a team from the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC led by the Commander, ACE.1 Aisha Abubakar, on a familiarization visit to the emirate council.
