EFCC Arraigns Three for N20.5m Fraud in Maiduguri

The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday September 7, 2023, arraigned Ali Alhaji Isa, Alhaji Ali Abubakar and Ibrahim Suleiman Magaji before Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri on separate charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, criminal misappropriation and cheating to the tune of N20.500, 000.00 (Twenty Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira).
The charges read: “That you, Ali Alhaji Isa between the 4th and 8th of January, 2021, at Maiduguri within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud did obtain an aggregate some of N4,000,000.00 ( Four Million Naira) only form Mohammed Alhaji Bukar under the false pretence of the supply of by-products of wheat flour from Crown Flour Mills Ltd to him, the pretence you knew to be false and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(1)(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.
Anglican Bishop Seeks Collaboration with EFCC

The Bishop of Anglican Communion Diocese of Makurdi, Rt. Rev. Dr. N. N. Inyom today, September 5, declared the church’s support for the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in ridding the country of economic and financial crimes, including corruption.
The cleric who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Commission also expressed the Anglican Communion’s willingness to collaborate with the Commission in fighting in the Church.

The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of eleven (11) cybercriminals to various jail terms.
The convicts are Olakunle Dave Edamisan, Samuel Opeyemi Enitan, Daniel Aanu Omoyajowo, Jonathan Emmannuel Opashi, Daramola Damilola Aliu, Olarenwaju Olamilekan Oluwaseun, Olaoluwa Daniel Adejobi, Akintola Akindeji Festus, Tijani Babatunde Adedayo, Sodiq Opyemi Odunewu and Powei Ibelih Theophillious.
Court Sends 19-year-old, Three Others to Jail for Internet Fraud in Benin City

Justice M. Itsueli of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State on Monday, September 4, 2023 convicted and sentenced four internet fraudsters to prison for fraud.
The convicts are Edah Edison, Akuche Cosmas Chigozie (alias Philip Anderson), Chidi, Iredia Endurance Eddy and Uchechukwu Victory Tabowei.
EFCC Arrests 20 Alleged Internet Fraudsters in Ibadan

Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested twenty (20) alleged internet fraudsters.
The suspects were arrested on September 1, 2023 at Ologolo and Idi – Ishin areas of Ibadan, Oyo State following intelligence on their fraudulent activities.
