Acting Chairman, EFCC (January to May 2008)

 

Ibrahim Lamorde took over the affairs of the Commission in acting capacity on December 27, 2007. This followed the removal of Nuhu Ribadu as the pioneer Chairman of the Commission.

A retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Lamorde who was born on December 20, 1962 in Mubi, Adamawa State, attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology in 1984. He joined the Nigeria police in 1986.

When the EFCC was created in 2003, Lamorde was made the pioneer Director of Operations. In January 2007, he was made Acting Chairman, holding the position until Farida Waziri was appointed Chairperson in May 2008.
