In continuation of the on going prosecution of individuals and organisations indicted in the fuel subsidy scam, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 arraign three new suspects before a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday October 15, 2012, arraigned Engr. Ebong Afia before Justice S.E. Aladetoyinbo of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, on a one count charge of issuance of a dud cheque to the tune of three million naira.
Justice U. N. Agomoh of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Monday October 15, 2012 remanded Barrister Emonena Blessing Ukiri, a former Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in prison custody. Ukiri is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on charges bordering on fraud, stealing and money laundering to the tune of over N35m (thirty five million naira).
